Australia’s largest and only cross-sectoral association of career practitioners has launched its 2017 CDAA Excellence Awards Program to highlight outstanding achievement.
As the world of work faces unprecedented change, CDAA is utilising the program to encourage the continual professional development of its members.
“CDAA’s vision is a career development profession recognised for excellence and valued by all Australians,” CDAA National Manager Peter Mansfield said.
“We are expecting half of current occupations to be redundant within 15 years – therefore our career practitioners should be as skilled as possible to give our students and people in career transition the best advice.”
The 2017 program has seven awards under its four categories of excellence, which include Leadership, Research, Practice and Policy.
The program includes a new Award for Excellence in the Advocacy of Career Development Policy, recognising organisations not specialising in career development that have implemented successful professional development programs for staff.
“Career development is essential at every stage of life; however, many people stop receiving professional advice after graduation,” Mr Mansfield said.
“It is vital for employers to be considering the ongoing professional development needs of their staff.”
2016 Practitioner of the Year Carolyn Alchin said it was fantastic to be recognised by fellow professionals and encourages practitioners and organisations to nominate for this year’s program.
“CDAA support excellence, and as a member of the organisation, I am surrounded with people I can learn from.”
