Webinar: Girls Just Want to Get Paid (equally): Empowering Women to Address the Gender Pay Gap

Join CDAA Professional Member Melita Long on International Women's Day to find out how to help your female clients “be bold for change” to obtain the career and salary equity they deserve.

Women make up 50.2% of the Australian population, and 46.2% of employees, yet the gender pay gap still erodes women's true career equity.

Despite various EEO and diversity Acts, Australia ranks 46th in the world for gender pay equity, and statistics (at Aug 2016) show that:

  • Full-time average weekly base earnings for women is 16.2% less than men and the total remuneration gender pay gap is 24%.
  • Average superannuation at retirement is 52.8% less for women.
  • Women only hold 27.4% of Key Leadership roles in Australia.
  • Only 23.4% of ASX200 Board Directors are women and 12% don't have any women.
  • Only 15.4% of CEOs across all Australian organisations are women.
  • 39% of the gender pay gap is still ‘unexplained' i.e. influenced by discrimination.

So where does this leave women wanting to have a successful career and receive equal pay?
How do we, as career practitioners, help enable full workplace inclusion, gender pay equity and support our female clients to be successful and well paid in their careers? We need to help women plan their careers and learn strategies to address the gender pay gap.

This webinar calls on extensive experience of career coaching male and female leaders, the latest research and proven methods to enable career success. It will present and explore real solutions including case studies of professional MBA women who have successfully attained leadership roles.
