WA Event: Career and Enterprise Workshop

This workshop is designed for teachers delivering both General and ATAR Career and Enterprise courses, and for other practitioner's interested in learning more about the career education their clients are exposed to in senior secondary school.

The aim is to ensure that all teachers delivering the courses are confident with the terminology and expectations of the course.

Our Presenter Sarah Cooke will cover:

  • Assessment outlines – investigation, production/performance, individual pathway plan/career portfolio, response and examination– what do they mean?
  • Sample Assessments and marking keys

Sarah Cooke, Teacher, Lake Joondalup Baptist:

Sarah is a teacher at Lake Joondalup Baptist College where she has taught Career and Enterprise, General and ATAR for eight years. Sarah has been a member of the Curriculum Advisory Committee for Career and Enterprise for five years and was part of the team that helped to create the General and ATAR Career and Enterprise Courses.

In her previous life, she worked in the recruitment industry and is now passionate about giving students the skills that they need to succeed in the world of work. Sarah believes that the Career and Enterprise course - at General or ATAR level should be part of compulsory education for all our students!
