QLD Event: Positive Psychology Insights for Career Practitioners

Register for this fantastic interactive session with registered psychologist Louise Hooper from Integrated Success to learn about Positive Psychology.

Positive psychology – the science of enhancing human life and wellbeing – is, in many ways, a natural fit for the strengths based and future focused work of career practitioners. This session will highlight some of the surprising and fascinating findings in positive psychology and their implications for career practice. In addition, the PD event will focus particularly on research around:

  • Passion – is following your passion good career advice?
  • Motivation – why carrots and sticks do not work.
  • Strengths and skills, what is the difference?
  • Crafting careers – it’s a thing and you don’t have to change jobs to do it.

At the end of this session, participants will have new tools, references and ideas to implement with their clients. The professional development also fosters career self-management, utilising assessment tools and generating self-motivation in clients while targeting counselling skills and strategies.

This is a fantastic opportunity for members to bring along colleagues or other people who may benefit from being a part of CDAA. Afternoon tea and refreshments will be available.
