ACT Event: How to Write Pitches for APS Jobs - Events

ACT Event: How to Write Pitches for APS Jobs

Several APS departments are using a 'pitch' approach to applications. Sometimes called a 'statement of claims', these documents usually set a word or page limit. Inviting a marketing approach, these documents can be problematic for applicants accustomed to writing responses to selection criteria.

Presenter Dr Ann Villiers, Mental Nutritionist, will cover:

  • Examples of the pitch application process
  • Limitations of the STAR model
  • How to interpret the role description
  • How to structure a pitch response
  • Editing techniques to meet word limits.

Career development practitioners who provide services to: public servants, people wishing to enter the public services, graduates and HR practitioners supporting APS staff would benefit from this event.
