across a multitude of backgrounds and cultures identify and achieve their career and job-search goals.
In 2020, I published a blog article on my website “Career Counselling – CoronaVirus – Impact on Career – How to Manage and Grow Your Career During the Pandemic” and was subsequently contacted and interviewed by Louise Saunders ABC Radio (Hobart) on Career Change.
This interview was my first radio interview and I was nervous - it pushed me outside of my comfort zone. However, I seized the opportunity and ran with it; and although I was not perfect and the nerves came through (I am human after all) it provided me with valuable growth opportunities.
Pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, even if it is one small step at a time with support structures in place, and seizing opportunities is something I emphasise with my clients for growth does not come from staying within our comfort zone.
Together (dependent on your needs and wants) we can identify and explore your professional background to date, labour markets, your personal and workplace strengths and development areas, personality, aptitude, career interests, coping strategies, under-developed skills, innate abilities to help you uncover the hidden self and in turn help you understand you in greater detail. Thus, providing you with a solid foundation to establish plans and take strategic action.
Remember looking at yourself is never easy, that is why many clients have stated to me that they like the fact that I have Counselling qualifications, skills and experience behind me; that is, they have stated words to the effect that I like that you can help identify and explore issues that maybe impacting my career and/or provide me with additional resources.
