Webinar: Linking Career Theory to Practice

Join our panel of career practitioners discussing their work in linking career theory to their career practice.

Introducing a number of career theories to the conversation, discussion will focus on the importance of contextualising career theory to practice as well as the changing world of work, lifelong learning, career decision-making and development, social justice, and career guidance to the broader community.

With a panel of career professionals working within a range of community areas and age groups, this webinar provides a fantastic opportunity to hear about the importance of understanding how career theory strengthens practical career support services.

This webinar will be facilitated by CDAA QLD Division President Jennifer Luke who will lead the session with an overview of the selected career theories. 

Our Panellists: 

  • Dr Greg Souvan  - Experienced Guidance Officer with Education Queensland and Higher Education Lecturer (USQ & RMIT). Advocate for integrated career development in the P-12 curriculum.

  • Sarah Mitchell - Career Development Practitioner within Higher Education (USQ) with experience developing and delivering a range of community career programs to assist individuals from Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander or CALD backgrounds, as well as incarcerated clients.

  • Jenni Proctor - Fellow CDAA member. Experienced careers coach, educator, strategist and transition specialist for individuals and employers, as well as a strong advocate and careers practitioner for the older workforce.
