WA Seminar: Career Connect 2023

Career Connect WA is an annual professional development event for career advisors, presented by The University of Notre Dame Australia in collaboration with the Career Development Association of Australia.

The Career Connect WA day is a fantastic opportunity to get up-to-date on all of the changes affecting your university-bound clients and students.  

The theme for 2023 will be Emerging Trends in Education, Employment and Training.

The Program

  • 8:30am - 9am: Registration and Coffee

  • 9am - 9:15am: Welcome and Welcome to Country with Professor Elizabeth Labone, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Learning and Teaching from The University of Notre Dame, and Peter Mansfield, National Manager from the Career Development Association Australia

  • 9:15am - 9:45am: Keynote Address with Dan Hope, Director of Partnerships from the Good Education Group. Dan will provide key insights into WA school-leavers and university entrants, including demographics, postcode-based insights and more  

  • 9:45am - 10:30am: What's New at Universities facilitated by the University of Notre Dame Australia with Janelle May from The University of Western Australia, Madi Stirling from Curtin University, Leisha Hartley from Edith Cowan University, Julie Forrest-Davis from Murdoch University, and Helena-Everkrans Smith from The University of Notre Dame Australia

  • 10:30am - 11am: Notre Dame 2023 - Emerging Trends and Innovation in Education with Professor Elizabeth Labone, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Learning and Teaching, with academic colleagues 

  • 11am - 11:20am: Morning Tea

  • 11:20am - 11:50am: TISC Update with Andrew Crevald, CEO, and Georgina Ker, Manager Application Services

  • 11:50am - 12:30pm: VET Panel with Michelle Hoad, Managing Director from North Metropolitan TAFE, and Brenda Micale, General Manager of Training Services from South Metropolitan TAFE

  • 12:30pm - 1:30pm: Lunch

  • 1:30pm - 2:15pm: Implications of the Jobs and Skills Summit with Alan Duncan, Director of the Bankwest Curtin Economic Centre

  • 2:15pm - 2:30pm: Closing

Parking can be found on nearby streets and carparks, and at the Collie Street car park. The Campus is also a short walk from the Fremantle train and bus station. See Fremantle Campus map.
