Webinar: Career Opportunities in Events & Festivals Sectors

Did you know there is a shortage of people in Australia engaged in supporting events and festivals? Learn about the variety of careers, skills and personalities this industry attracts and how to get into this growing area across Australia.


A panel of the following professionals will be interviewed to provide an overview of their experience, training and how they have arrived at this point in their careers. They will also outline the various roles and shortages in the sector and how best students/clients can enter and develop their careers within Festivals and Events.

  • Justyna Jochym is the CEO of Festival City Adelaide, the peak body for festivals and events in South Australia. She is board member of the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) and Tourism Industry Council SA (TICSA). She sits on the Strategic Workforce Advisory Group for the Arts coordinated by Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA)
  • Anita Decoster has an established career in event management and large scale operations for festivals and major state events including Tasting Australia and Santos Tour Down Under. Currently the Music Producer for Illuminate Adelaide and Co-Director / Event Manager for Froth & Fury Festival
  • Sarah Cruz recently commenced a role as Team Leader, Communication and Events at the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) and was previously the Student engagement Manager for Study Adelaide and was the Events Coordinator for the All Occasion’s Group

Career practitioners will leave the webinar feeling confident to provide advice on the courses and skills development required for employment oppotunities in these sectors.
