Types of Membership

Life
Life Membership is bestowed on a Professional or Fellow Member in recognition of their outstanding service and leadership to CDAA. It is not a category for which a member can apply; they must be nominated for consideration by another CDAA member. View our current list of Life Members here.

Fellow
Fellow Membership is available by upgrade application for proactive Professional Members of CDAA or another CICA member association for a minimum of ten years who has demonstrated significant contribution and leadership to the field of career development. Membership fee is $390 pa. Professional
Professional Membership is available to individuals who work in the career development profession, and can evidence completion of a Graduate Certificate in Career Development or Vocational Graduate Certificate in Career Development Practice and evidence Competency in the Core Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners, or meet the criteria for approval by the CDAA Membership Committee as an exceptional case. Membership fee is $390 pa.

Associate
Associate Membership is available to individuals who work in the career development profession and can evidence completion of a minimum academic qualification associated with the profession, or meet the criteria for approval by the CDAA Membership Committee as an exceptional case. Membership fee is $310 pa.

Student
Student Membership is available to individuals undertaking career development studies toward the status of Associate Member or Professional Member, usually with the objective of undertaking professional employment or establishing their own professional business within the career development arena. Membership fee is $100 pa.

Subscription
Subscription Membership is available to individuals who do not practice in the career development profession, but have an interest in being informed of current matters pertaining to career development and/or the CDAA. Membership fee is $195 pa.

International
International Membership is available to practicing career development practitioners who hold current recognised membership of career associations outside of Australia. Membership fee is $80 pa AU.

Honorary
Honorary Membership is available by invitation only to individuals of significant reputation within the profession who are active or were previously active, in a senior role(s) in a not-for -profit organisation with similar objectives to the CDAA, whom the Association wishes to honour or partner to achieve mutually beneficial objectives. For further information please contact [email protected].

Affiliate
Affiliate Membership is available by invitation only to other member associations in the career industry with similar objectives to the CDAA and with whom the Association is partnering to achieve mutually beneficial objectives. For further information please contact [email protected].

Retired
Retired Membership is available to individuals who were members of the CDAA when they were working and now retired, have an interest in continuing to be informed of current matters pertaining to career development and/or the Association. Membership fee is $80 pa.
