Job Description: 

Primary Job Purpose

Provide national leadership, expertise and support to national sporting organisations, state/territory institutes and academies of sport and key stakeholders to enhance their delivery of athlete career and education services to targeted athletes.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide high level quality advice, policy development, support and services to build the capacity of the national network and key stakeholders through best practice.
  2. Through effective stakeholder liaison ensure delivery of the athlete career and education services nationally to targeted athletes in keeping with the agreed contractual, service delivery and funding arrangements.
  3. Implement, maintain and continuously improve the performance management system, incorporating planning, resource management, data collection, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
  4. Coordinate, utilise and stay abreast of, key stakeholder relationships and cutting edge technologies, tools and resources that will assist the national network to meet the changing needs of athletes.
  5. Lead and coordinate designated projects to achieve, maintain and enhance national and international benchmarks.
  6. Drive, promote, train and provide initial support to ensure key stakeholders effectively take-up and utilise the database and information management tools.
Location: 
Position is based in Canberra and will be available until 30 June 2010.
