About the Presenter

Yvonne Mettam is a comic Scot, who is proud to call Australia home. Her tongue-in-cheek rhyming stories on every day life are written in the style of British poet, Pam Ayres. Warm and witty, Yvonne turns her observational eye to everything around her and constantly comes up with something that makes her, and her audience, laugh!

Born in Scotland, Yvonne migrated to Western Australia with her family in 1970. Her husband of thirty four years, her two children and her ninety two year old father, provide her with great raw material for
her poems – as does her own middle aged menopause moments.

Following a diverse career in education, involving teaching, curriculum writing, consulting, tertiarylecturing and industry career management, Yvonne has chosen to devote more time to the good things in life…morning cappuccinos, eating chocolate, writing and performing her comic verse and enjoying her career
