The workshop will focus on the needs of career practitioners who have just set up shop as a career counsellor and will focus on how to make money from your service, getting clients, marketing, budgeting and other crucial issues such as maintaining a professional image.
Theme: Setting up shop as a career counsellor is the easy part. The hard part
If you're in a mess, chances are your service will also be in a mess. Do you need some pointers about how to keep records, produce compliant invoices and complete your annual taxation returns?
This session will also be useful for members who have been in business for a while and need to refresh their thinking in how their business model is operating. Well-known CDAA member Janice Simpson will deliver this session.
Janice has managed a career development business, Career Kaleidoscope, which she sold in 2007. She now maintains a micro career counselling business.
She has been a business development leader in Melbourne's West as well as a Business studies teacher at RMIT and Victoria University.
