Outline of the program

This session is targeted at those in the career development industry sector who may be considering joining the CDAA or new members who have joined in the last year whether that is at a student, associate or professional level. The purpose is to have an opportunity to make new contacts and be guided through a discussion of how CDAA membership can provide benefit in your role in career development.

The discussion will focus on:

• Membership benefits and CDAA positioning
• Exploration of changing criteria to membership categories and consideration of impact on your own professional development
• Including Career progression from student or associate to professional status
• Understanding the professional points system and the method of recording
• Consideration of the presenters background in the industry and contextualising the relevance to your own situation

Your presenter, Mary Grech, has been involved in many aspects of career development and also in various roles on the Association Committee. The facilitated discussion will explore avenues for you to consider in your own career progression in the career development sector. There will also be ample time to network and make new contacts as well as enjoy some light refreshment.
