Career Transitions and Career Counsellors

Using an interactive and discussion based approach, Dale Simpson and Geoff Hopkins will tackle this issue in terms of what our obligation is as practitioners to see things in a broader context. This session will then explore the implications for practice including ethics, collusion, and standards (now and imminent in 2012).

Dale and Geoff will also explore who is the client in the transition and provide some insights and responses to the question of how do we go about this?

This 2 hour PD will be a discussion oriented and practical session for coaches who wish to:

  • Engage in discussion with deeply experienced practitioners
  • Ensure that they don’t fall into the pitfalls of job swap rather than career transition
  • Clarify ways to maintain a broader perspective on career management
  • Gain more insight into what recruiters and career transition practitioners are looking for

This session is well suited to meet the needs of career development practitioners in private practice as well as those in schools, TAFE or university. It is also very relevant for the employment service and related areas including those working in policy related roles.

About the Presenters

Dale Simpson is Managing Director of Bravo Consulting Group Pty Ltd. He has worked in the Human Resource Management and Development field for 30years. Bravo has a presence in India providing Career Development services to the top Graduate Schools of Management. Bravo provides particular skills and experience are in executive coaching, career management, leadership and performance management as well as extensive performance management and review tools for senior executives and their teams. Dale is also a Director with Crisis Support Services Inc (Suicide Help-Line Victoria & Mensline Australia), Chair of iTours Advisory Board and Secretary of Norwood.

Geoff Hopkins is Principal at Holistique and is a business improvement specialist providing a holistic service providing executive recruitment, success programs for executives during their first 6 months in the role, assessment of executives for succession planning, executive coaching, and strategy development (business planning). Geoff has 20 years experience in recruitment and executive recruitment and specialises in personal improvement programs, assessments and development.
