Where The Jobs Are (Programs Completed)

Making sense of labour market information

UPDATE - All 100 workshops have now been delivered nationally. Each state and territory offered workshops throughout 2013 and 2014. The Association is pleased to say in excess of 2000 people attended the workshops across Australia.

The workshop were delivered by 15 specifically trained career development professionals, all of whom are current professional or fellow members of CDAA.

The half-day workshop provided attendees:

  • With the knowledge and confidence to locate, identify and interpret labour market information
  • Strategies to apply this knowledge at a local and/or personal level
  • Opportunity to discuss employment trends, skills shortages, vacancies, expected growth in national and regional labour markets and other factors that should be considered when making career choices
  • Connection with local stakeholders and practitioners to exchange information and forge important networks

The Association is very proud of the success of this project
We thank the local stakeholders who acted as our "workshop hosts" assisting with local logistics. We offer special acknowledgement to those who strengthened the content by presenting information on local data and statistics as our guest speakers.

Thank you to everyone who attended a workshop and completed the online post attendee survey, the Association values your contribution.

Where to NOW?

We are in the process of collating the learning's of this project. This information will be used to benefit our members and the career community as a whole.

Based on the results of the evaluation, the Association will consider developing future Continuing Professional Development opportunities which continue to explore the use of Labour market Information in Career Development.
