Employer of the Year Award

The CDAA Employer of the Year Award is in recognition of the commitment organisations have to implementing career development initiatives in the workplace.
Career Development initiatives in the workplace have been shown to:

  • facilitate higher productivity and profitability;
  • entice higher quality applicants to advertised positions;
  • contribute to lower levels of staff turnover;
  • reduce staff absences due to ill health;
  • produce higher levels of customer satisfaction;
  • strengthen loyalty through enhanced client relationships; and
  • foster greater creativity and innovation.

Award Finalists will be recognised by:

  • a finalist certificate and access to a CDAA Employer of the Year finalist logo for use for a two-year period;
  • a profile article in the Australian Career Practitioner (national magazine of CDAA distributed to 1500 career development practitioners);
  • prominence on the CDAA website awards page for 12 months;
  • a profile in an issue of the CDAA National E-bulletin; and
  • a subscription to the Australian Career Practitioner magazine.

In addition the Award Winner will receive:

  • an award winner certificate and access to CDAA Employer of the Year award winner logo for use for a two-year period;
  • recognition and presentation of the award at the CDAA National Conference;
  • one free registration to the CDAA National Conference; and
  • prominence on the home page of the CDAA website for 12 months.

How will applicants be assessed?

CDAA will appoint a panel of Professional Members to assess the applicants. The award will acknowledge organisations that:

  • identify Career Development as a corporate priority – e.g. through strategic and operational planning, policies, and programs;
  • demonstrate ongoing employee engagement with career development – e.g. mentoring, coaching, building workplace capability through career development programs;
  • recognise the business benefits of responding to the career development needs of its employees;
  • employ qualified career development practitioners to implement career development services within the organisation; and
  • provide case studies, model policies, and initiatives that serve as useful tools for other employers.
