The Award is open to all government, independent, Catholic and other denominational schools in Australia. Both Primary and Secondary schools may apply.

Nature of award:
All finalists will receive a prize that includes attendance at the CDAA National Conference and associated costs of travel and accommodation, as well as certificates, electronic seals for use over a 12 month period, and a cash prize of $3000 for their school. Winners will each receive a trophy and $5000 for their school (ie. an additional $2000 each). The secondary school winner will also receive career resources to the value of $1000 (provided by Hobsons Australia). The primary school winner will also receive career resources to the value of $1000 (provided by DEEWR).

How to apply:
An online nomination form will be made available to primary and secondary school principals in October via the ACS website. Principals are encouraged to nominate the relevant teacher within their school who has shown innovation and excellence during the previous 12 months. A total of four finalists will be selected, with the winners of each category (Primary and Secondary) announced at the CDAA National Conference.
